VISITOR GUIDE

Walking out the arrival gate, you may like to check out the information desk located at the right corner from the exit door. It provides you a welcome information you may needed. Alternatively, you may like to go to Batam Travel Tips to obtain comprehensive travel tips and guides. Below are some useful tips :

The telephone call prefix for Indonesia is 62 and the area code for Batam is 0778. (take out the "0" if you are calling from outside) The main access codes for landline overseas calls out of Indonesia are 007, 017 or 001. You can save a lot of money on handphone calls to overseas numbers by using the access code prefix 01017, 01016 (vary based on the operator you use) which connects you to a VOIP service. The connection quality is usually good but can vary. Detailed and most updated exchange rate can be viewed in this link: Informasi Kurs Bank Indonesia

However, you may find changing your money in local money changers may give you more interesting rates. Avoid changing money at your hotel or in bars or nightclubs. You almost certainly will be ripped off on the exchange rate.

Time zone different. Batam is 1 hour behind Singapore’s time.

Confirm ferry tickets. If you travel at peak seasons, you may need to confirm your return upon your arrival. Most of the time, seats are fully book when you come again on your date of return.
